Gainesville - Here I come!!!

YEA!!! I get to go to Gainesville to see my bubby, Cindy, and the new baby (when he/she arrives). I am SO excited about this trip! I am leaving tomorrow afternoon and driving down there with my parents, and then I'm flying back home on Sunday! I had come to terms that I wouldn't get to see them again until this summer, but Keith had different plans. I totally have him to thank for this trip! He had planned this a long time ago and made it happen! I love that man and thank God for him all the time! He treats me so wonderful and spoils me like crazy! I'm so blessed and lucky!

When I return I will definitely post some new pixs!

HE DID IT!!!

He did it and I knew he would! YEA KEITH!!! He passed his Praxis III and now he has his standard teaching license (the real deal)! Good job honey! I knew you could and I love you!

Here is a picture of me and my precious 13-month old niece Lucy, taken the weekend we were visiting his parents (they were watching her for the weekend so we could see her more). She's such a doll! And she looks JUST like Keith did in his baby pictures (has since the day she was born)...but I promise she is his sister's, not ours. LOL!!!

Looong Week

Oh my goodness! I thought last week took forever to go by. But, whoa, this week is way worse. I can't wait for this week to end. Last week was SAT 10 testing for K, 1, and 2 and this week is the Augmented Benchmark for 3rd grade. The schedules are so weird this year for classes/breaks...and today I ended up not even getting a Prep period. That's probably part of what made me so tired today. Well, that and the lack of sleep. But that's just my school schedule - crazy.

The rest of life is going pretty good for us. We're cruising along, longingly awaiting the end of the school year - my last day is the 27th and his is the 29th.

Yesterday afternoon, Keith got an e-mail asking him to fax ADE Licensing a signed permission form for them to release his Praxis III scores over e-mail (apparently they don't USPS them anymore). He faxed that in this morning, so he should get his results within 24 hours. YEA! I know he passed with flying colors, but I'll post the official news for ya'll when we get them.

This past weekend, we went to see his family. Friday was his brother's 21st birthday and he proposed to his girlfriend that day! AAAWWW!!! We love Brandy and have only been waiting for it to become official (February was 4 years for them). She just fits right in. And of course, the ring is beautiful!

On Saturday, I drove to Children's Hospital in LR. One of my best friends from college had a baby on Thursday and Sat. they transfered him over there. I've actually known her husband longer than I've known her and they are both just some of the most wonderful Christian people you could ever meet. Being their friends is truly a blessing in itself. They now have 3 beautiful boys - 3 1/2, 2, and 7 days. She is also privileged to get to be a stay-at-home Mom. It was really good to get to see them, the baby, and her parents. My thoughts and prayers are with them and their family during this time.

In college, I joined Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women (professional - not social). Here, we also have a chapter of SAI for Alumnae and Patronesses, and I am currently very active in the chapter. This past weekend I got to experience something new, that I possibly might not ever get to experience again. UAPB is starting a brand new collegiate chapter and SAI asked people from all over the state to come take part in and watch this. I got to go represent our chapter; not only did I get to see this new chapter installment and initiation, but I got to take part in the ceremony. It was really neat and I'm glad I went. Thanks to my chapter for asking me to go represent us!

A Good Doctor's Report!

Some of you know that I've had vocal problems for years, basically since I started teaching. For quite a while I was pretty sure I had vocal nodules, but I wouldn't go to a doctor to find out (b/c I didn't want to hear it). Finally, on October 2nd I went to an ENT and, sure enough, I did have them, along with some redness and irritation he said was from "silent" reflux. So, he gave me a four step treatment plan and told me to try it and come back in 6 months (we're trying to avoid surgery).

Well, Tuesday, April 1st, I went back for my check-up and got good news! He said the redness is gone and the nodules are so small that he can barely see the little bumps now! YEA!!! This is GREAT news! He told me I'm doing all the right things and I'm definitely improving! He said for me to keep doing what I'm doing and come back in another 6 months for another check-up.
