New Music Player Added

This post is just to let you know I've added a music player to our blog. You'll have to go down to the bottom of the page for it to start playing, but I would love for you to enjoy the few selections I've picked out - just thought they were cute and appropriate.

Thanks to Crystal for introducing me to song #2! Bawled my eyes out the first time I heard it (I'm a little extra emotional right now! haha!) But, I still love the song; especially now that we're having a girl!

Thanks to Keith for introducing me to song #1 - I didn't even know this song existed until we picked a girl name (well before we knew she was a she).

Okay, so #4 is more just fun than really appropriate. Then again it's not baby appropriate, but it certainly deals with the way Keith takes care of me, and yes, still makes me feel (aaww!!) - making me rest, tucking me in, always checking on me to see if I need anything, etc. He's so good to me! Yes, I know this is truly a God thing; why He chose to bless me like this I don't know, but I sure am glad He did!

Anyways - I hope you enjoy my selections! Any more appropriate suggestions? Leave a comment and I'll look them up when I get the chance. Thanks!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

The title says it all! Keith and I went to the doctor today and found out we're having a girl! We are SOO excited and just had to share our wonderful news with everyone! We can't wait for March when we all get to meet Layla Scout Westbrook in person! (We're about 99.9% sure this will be her full name.)

My GA is 18 wks 5 days and she measured 18 wks 6 days, so that's right on track. We got to see all four chambers of her heart and hear her heartbeat, which was 136 bpm. Layla was very active, but very cooperative for the nurse.

This is my favorite profile shot and the picture of her girl parts!

So, all you Mommies out there (especially the ones with girls and boys) do you think it's pretty certain she's a girl, or do you think the ultrasound picture leaves a little room for doubt? To us, we think it's pretty certain, but this is our first child. Either way, we are just soo excited about becoming parents and can't wait to meet this blessing from God in person!

Last Chance to Guess

Just thought I'd post one more belly pic for one last chance to give it a guess at boy or girl, b/c (hopefully) we will find out tomorrow what Li'l Westbrook is!!! If Baby will cooperate for us, we should soon know whether God's blessing is a boy or a girl! YEA!!!
So, here's my belly at 18 wks 4 days:

New Pics

I went to a local center that helps pregnant women and I modeled for them - I let them do an ultrasound and put the whole thing on their video and keep lots of ultrasound pictures for their records. It was really cool. There were two women in there with me, a nurse and a friend of the family that works at the center. It lasted a little over 30 minutes and the two women were so much fun. We just laughed and joked and oooed and aaawwwed and the nurse pointed out and explained everything to me. It truly was a wonderful experience. We still don't know for sure if it's a boy or a girl, and she wouldn't tell me what she thought. Her reason for not telling is because she says she's not trained in that so it's purely a guess and she doesn't want to get our hopes up for one and it turn out to be the other. I can respect that, but I definitely tried to get her to tell me anyway. But, based on a few comments and one picture (that we're keeping to ourselves), Keith and I think we might know what it is. But since it's all just guessing, we'll keep this to ourselves too, until we hear official word from the doctor. Li'l Westbrook was very active at the ultrasound. The whole time it was either kicking it's legs or crossing them at the ankles. And, I got to watch it open and close it's right hand and stick it up to it's mouth and open it's mouth. It was so cute and we just oooed and the nurse rewound the recording so we could watch it again.

So, here's the pictures from the ultrasound:

My favorite - the crossed legs with hands up by it's head:

Enjoy!

Belly Pic

Well, we don't have any new baby pics, but I do have a belly pic. This pic was taken by my sister-in-law Cindy on Friday, September 19th. My brother Dallas had to stay in Gainesville, FL for classes, but Cindy and their precious daughter Presley came to town to visit for a week. So, Cindy took some pictures to take back and show Dallas. At the time this picture was taken, I was 14 weeks and 1 day pregnant.

Please excuse the outfit. We were in for the night, so I had already changed out of my jeans and into my very baggy, very comfy pajama pants.

When we get new pics of our baby, I'll be sure to post them for ya'll to see. Thanks for checking in on us.

Baby Doctor Check-up

All is well! :) We had our 16 week check-up today. The baby's heartbeat was very strong and the nurse didn't have any trouble finding it once she got in the right spot. At first she was in the wrong spot and was only finding mine, so I joked with her that I'd spent all day telling the baby to hide from her so we could get another ultrasound. (Can you tell I'm a little more relaxed at this one than week 12?) She laughed and tried 2 more spots, with no luck, and told me I had jinxed her. But then she tried searching lower than her previous spots and there it was...strong and steady; and that is still the most precious sound in the world to me!

So here's the heartbeat breakdown:
7 wks 6 days: 158
11 wks 5 days: 156
16 wks 0 days: 152

So, anybody got any guesses? Boy? Girl? Not gonna say?

Our next appt is Tuesday, Oct. 21st. At this appt, they will do an ultrasound and, if Baby cooperates, Keith and I should find out what we're having. WOOHOO!!! We can't WAIT!!! We're so excited about becoming parents and we can't wait to find out what we'll be parents to - a boy or a girl? So, hopefully our baby will cooperate and let us know...oh we so hope!

Until then! :)
