Keith's Spring Break

Wow! What a week it's been! Keith had his Spring Break this week and went down to visit with his family Monday through Saturday. So, I thought I would get a lot done at nights with him gone...so wrong. My evenings did not go as I had planned and I got very little done that I thought I would. Oh well...that's kinda how life usually seems to go. We think we're gonna do all these certain things and then BAM, curve ball.

Maybe this week I'll get back in the routine more since Keith will be back home and in his normal routine too.

Keith, his dad, and his brother all went deep sea fishing in Port Aransas, TX on Wednesday. They took a twelve hour tour on an eighty foot boat and caught 77 pounds of King Fish and snapper. He brought quite a bit of it home with him and I can't wait 'til he fixes it. He's a great chef and I'm never disappointed in his meals.

He has a good picture from the trip, but right now our scanner's not working. So the best I can do is my picture of their picture (which isn't very good). If we get the scanner working, I'll scan it and put it here instead so you can see the real picture of their catch.

Keith's Big Test

Well, my husband is in his first year of teaching, and usually during that year you take your big teaching test - the Praxis III. This is a performance-based assessment that determines if you get your Standard 5-Year Teaching License (you begin teaching on a 3-Year Initial License). You have three years to take the test, but most people take it during their 2nd semester, since this is the first time you're allowed to take it.

So, Keith took his test today and he just called to say it's over and he feels like it went well. WOOHOO!!! Now, we won't hear an official pass/fail until the middle of May, but I have no doubt he did a great job and passed with flying colors! My husband is so smart and so wonderful that I know he did great!

Just wanted to brag.

My Spring Break, so far

Well, I'm on Spring Break this week and loving it! It's definitely nice to sleep in for a week. I left Sunday afternoon and drove down to Benton to visit Keith's family. I am so blessed to have such wonderful in-laws that I get along with so well. I enjoyed my time there very much and definitely could have enjoyed more time there. But, I had to come back.

I had planned for Tuesday to sleep in, visit there some more, go spend time with his sister Katie and my precious niece, Lucy, and then come home some time that evening. But, my plans got changed just a bit because Keith's truck wouldn't start that morning so my dad had to take him to work (30 minutes away from the city we live in)...so I needed to be at his work to pick him up when he got off. Therefore, as soon as I got up I had to quickly shower, pack up, and get out. I did get to stop by and visit Katie and Lucy for a little bit, but not near long enough. But, it was still a great trip and I'm glad I went!

And, my dad (being the amazing and incredibly helpful man that he is) spent part of his day fixing our truck for us and then driving it around for the rest of his errands to make sure that what he fixed was the only problem (battery needed replaced, not the starter as we feared). And, he helped with some other stuff around our house that needed done and cleaned up. I love my dad and am so appreciative for him and all he does to help us!

Good Visit

Well, Dallas and Cindy are gone again. It's always so good to see them and I'm always thankful for the time, but I never feel like it's enough...but I don't think that would be possible anyway. I've always been blessed to have such a great brother, and Cindy is also a blessing. I feel like I could never get enough time with them. And, yes, I know that's a good thing to feel that way. But it sure does make me wish we could move closer to them (but then in two years it'd change again).

Oh well...that's life.

Here's us on 03-09-08 at their shower:

We're here too!

Hello everyone! I got the fever and had to join too! I love keeping up with everyone else, and I just thought this way people could keep up with us as well. I don't know how often this will be updated (b/c it's blocked at school), but hopefully I'll stick to it.

Keith picked our blog name and if you know us, you'll understand how it fits us.

Today was the get together/shower for Dallas and Cindy at VVMBC and I really enjoyed it. It was a great opportunity to see people that I don't normally see.

Well, it's getting late so I'm gonna go. Until next time! Lisa
