Another belly pic

So, here's the latest belly pic. It's been a while since I've posted one, so I thought I'd put up another.

This is me at 28 wks 5 days:

My baby belly still looks huge to me, especially considering I've still got 11 weeks to go. SCARY!!!

Her Name???

So...many of you already know this, but to some of you it might be new news - Keith and I don't know what we're going to name our baby girl any more. We thought we were certain about Layla Scout, but now we're not so sure. We have many reasons for the possible change. And, this is something we've been talking about for a while now - probably a month or more.

We've known our boys name for a long time now and not waivered on it. The girls name was a much more long and drawn out process, but we finally came up with something we both liked. Still yet, when we found out that our baby was a girl, I tried to get Keith to keep the name a secret (in case something like this happened). But Keith can't keep a secret, so we told. Well...now we're having to go back and retell everyone that might not be true anymore.

We have other possibilities and Layla Scout isn't 100% out of the picture yet, but who knows when we'll pick one. Maybe after she's born and we have to pick one to be released from the hospital...haha! Hopefully we'll settle on one before then, but who knows. Only God knows and time will reveal the answer to the rest of us, eventually.

Also, because of this new news I've updated the songs on the player below. I was told I needed to remove Layla from the playlist since that might not be her name anymore. And, I changed it so you have to press play to hear the songs (to help out those on dial-up internet, like my parents).

Has anyone else ever had this naming problem or are we alone in this? Just wondering.

Merry Christmas!!!

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone! Jesus is the reason for the season and I'm glad we get the opportunity to celebrate it every year! He is an awesome God and has been so good to us! Keith and I have been truly blessed in so many ways! So to all of you - Merry Christmas and may God bless you!

Keith Driveway Ice Skating 121608

So, we went outside last night for some fun on the ice. Just thought we'd share part of our fun with everyone.

Yes, I was very careful...I wore shoes with very good traction and walked carefully. Thanks for all the concerns of my (and the baby's) safety.

The video is a little dark, but this was about 8:15 last night and I'm still learning all the ends and outs of this new video camera.

For those that don't know, Keith and I bought our Christmas gift to each other on Black Friday. Our old video camera quit just in time for the birth of our first child, so we searched sale ads on Thursday and got up at 5:15 Friday morning to go stand in line for 20 minutes. But, we're glad we did and so far love the new camera.

This is my first video to post, so I'll play more with the next one and teach myself how to edit out parts of the video. But for now, you all get to see the whole video, including my (embarrassing) science lesson - thank you Keith.

Enjoy the video!

1st 'Snow' Day

So, Keith and I are both home today, but it's not actually snow....it's really just sleet and ice. There's nothing to play in. We went outside and tried to play with Bella in it, but with no luck b/c it's just solid sheets of ice. So, we took some pictures to show what it's like at our house. No, we didn't get a new vehicle - the car on the left is my moms. Dad came and switched vehicles yesterday morning to use our truck and we didn't switch back yet b/c the weather changed so quickly. You can see what the road looks like in front of our house...and that's solid ice; there's nothing slushy about it.

Here's Keith skating on our driveway:

He wouldn't let me try it. Gee, I wonder why? :)

We couldn't get to the backyard through the sunroom b/c the door was frozen shut and iced in. So, we had to get the gate keys and walk around to the gates from the front of the house. This required, first, breaking the chain loose 'cause it was frozen to the fence. Then we had to break the ice off the lock to get it to open. Finally, we had to break up and kick away the sleet/ice from the gate door just to be able to open it.

Once in the backyard, our next goal was to free the door to the sunroom. This required Keith using a garden hoe to break up the ice.

And, just so you can see what he was dealing with, this is how thick the ice is that he was breaking loose:

And finally, I have to post a picture with Bella in it b/c she LOVES the snow/sleet/ice. She already has lots of energy, but it's nothing compared to her in weather like this. I think she would think she was in heaven in Alaska. This is @ the gate we dug out to get through.

Today's Belly Pic

So here's today's belly pic. I felt the need to post this for everyone to see b/c all day I got comments about how big my belly was getting. And when I got home, Keith's first words to me were, "You look really pregnant today."

So, here's me at 24 wks 6 days:

I can't believe I'm that far along already. The pregnancy has flown by so far. I mean, gosh, next Thursday I'll start my third trimester. Holy Cow! I can't believe it...already. And, we still have soooooooo much to do before she gets here. Oh help! Here's hoping we'll get it all done! :)
